Have you seen the Drupal® purchased theme providers (aka clubs) that are starting to emerge on the horizon? I am delighted to see growth in this under-developed segment of the Drupal® landscape. As we all know, Drupal® is known for it's brains and brawn and not for it's good looks. Great! Looks are much less important to the core of the program than aesthetics. However the long-term success of the project is dependent upon attracting the aesthetic community (theme providers). Growth of this segment is exciting.

What are theme clubs and are they safe investments? A typical theme club sells themes individually and as subscriptions. For example, in the Joomla® community a Joomla® developer can join a theme club for about $300 per year. For that price they can download and install themes on their sites or their clients (unlimited downloads and site installations). New themes are introduced once a month and they come with typography, module variations with attractive and flexible style variations, several regions and more.
